JAC International had a very successful seminar for technology professionals on Thursday March 15th. The topic was technology in 2012 and two very well respected speakers came to speak about where things are going in technology.
The first speaker was Adela Matsutani, Vice President Head of Sales to Finance for KVH here in Tokyo. Adela has over 15 years experience working and managing teams in finance technology in Japan. She has effectively leveraged her experience as technology manager for the finance industry into a role that allows her to provide technology solutions to her clients. Her solutions often include outsources among other cost efficient ideas.
She spoke about the role of service providers in today’s technology department. She brought a case study for a client they had recently worked with to show the value in outsourcing large pieces of technology.
The second speaker was Marc Einstein, Industry Manager Asia Pacific for Mobile and Wireless communication from Frost and Sullivan. Marc has strong experience covering topics such as 3G networks and applications, LTE, mobile advertising trends and mobile device trends. He has advised key operators such as SK Telecom, NTT DoCoMo, SingTel, PCCW and Telstra as well as leading vendors such as Nokia Siemens Networks, Huawei, Ericsson, LG Electronics, Qualcomm and NEC.
Marc spoke about the emergence of LTE and the current trends in the mobile market. He brought up many interesting statics to show how consumers in multiple countries use their phones in different ways. He also spoke about the role of the mobile device going forward addressing security and cost issues.
After the speeches we had questions from the audience and then a networking event. It was very interesting to watch people from different industry come together over technology.
