The Accountant role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a dynamic finance function within a global organisation. This position plays a central role in financial reporting, compliance, accounting operations, and process improvement, providing broad exposure across accounting and finance activities while supporting business objectives and global standards.
Responsibilities
Manage accounts payable processes, employee expense reimbursements, and general ledger journal entries.
Execute periodic payment activities, including supplier payments, expense settlements, and intercompany transactions.
Maintain accruals and perform reconciliations between accounts payable subledgers and the general ledger to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Support monthly and periodic financial reporting, including the preparation of reporting packages for consolidation systems and reporting in accordance with IFRS requirements.
Oversee vendor and customer master data governance and maintain fixed asset records, including additions, transfers, and disposals.
Coordinate with internal and external auditors, tax advisers, and legal consultants to support audit, tax, and compliance requirements.
Contribute to internal control activities, system enhancements, process improvement initiatives, and finance-related projects.
Requirements
2–3 years of practical accounting experience.
Sound understanding of accounting principles and practices.
Strong attention to detail with a diligent and proactive approach to work.
Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and enthusiasm for professional development.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
Native-level Japanese language proficiency.
Business-level English communication skills, both written and spoken, preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Experience with AS/400 would be advantageous.
