The Asset Manager role offers the opportunity to oversee battery energy storage projects across their full lifecycle, from development through to operations. This position focuses on ensuring strong commercial performance, regulatory compliance, and optimisation of assets within a dynamic and evolving energy market.
Responsibilities
Manage battery energy storage projects through development, construction, and operational phases, ensuring alignment with contractual and regulatory requirements
Oversee project finance agreements, including lender relationships, covenant compliance, and drawdown processes
Monitor construction progress in collaboration with project teams, tracking issues, variations, and delivery milestones
Develop and maintain compliance tracking systems to ensure all reporting, warranties, insurances, and registrations are up to date
Continuously assess plant performance, responding to outages and coordinating with contractors and market operators to maximise availability
Prepare and review technical, financial, and commercial reports for senior stakeholders, including board members and lenders
Administer and negotiate a wide range of project contracts, including operations, maintenance, grid connection, and financial agreements
Requirements
Strong understanding of electricity markets and energy trading, including pricing structures and performance evaluation
Proven experience in contract management, including reviewing, negotiating, and administering multiple agreements
Solid financial acumen, with knowledge of project finance structures, budgeting, and performance tracking
Demonstrated ability to prepare and deliver high-quality reports for senior stakeholders and investors
Experience managing relationships with lenders, contractors, and senior internal stakeholders
Excellent analytical and organisational skills, with the ability to manage complex project information
Business-level proficiency in both English and Japanese
