The Clinical Applications Engineer, Reprocessing role offers the opportunity to play a key part in the successful implementation and long-term sustainability of endoluminal reprocessing solutions across diverse healthcare environments. This position combines technical expertise, stakeholder engagement and project leadership, working closely with internal and external partners to support market expansion and the seamless integration of innovative reprocessing programmes.
Responsibilities
Serve as a technical liaison for endoluminal reprocessing solutions across new and existing markets.
Research and communicate the technical requirements necessary for the successful implementation of reprocessing programmes.
Actively pursue pre-market and post-market solutions to support regional expansion and seamless programme integration.
Collaborate closely with commercial teams, reprocessing trainers, internal subject matter experts, hospital administration, reprocessing staff and third-party manufacturers.
Lead and support market research activities to identify region-specific requirements and develop compliant, innovative reprocessing solutions.
Facilitate design communication and programme implementation, ensuring solutions meet both local and product-specific requirements.
Demonstrate strong project management, stakeholder engagement and cross-functional leadership to maintain project momentum and adapt strategies to unique customer needs.
Requirements
Required Qualifications and Skills
Professional experience in medical devices, healthcare technology, clinical engineering, application engineering, sterile processing or a related field.
Knowledge of medical device cleaning, disinfection, sterilisation or reprocessing principles.
Ability to understand and communicate complex technical and clinical requirements.
Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders, priorities and implementation timelines.
Excellent communication and presentation skills in both Japanese and English.
Ability to collaborate effectively with commercial teams, technical specialists, healthcare professionals, hospital administrators and external business partners.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to identify market-specific requirements and develop practical solutions.
Ability to influence stakeholders and lead projects across functions without direct reporting authority.
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
Willingness and ability to travel as required to support customers, projects and market development activities.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience
Experience with endoscopy, endoluminal devices, surgical instruments or other reusable medical devices.
Experience working with hospital sterile processing departments, central sterile supply departments or reprocessing personnel.
Knowledge of relevant medical device reprocessing regulations, standards and industry guidance.
Experience supporting the introduction or implementation of medical device programmes in new markets.
Experience working in a global, cross-functional and matrixed organisation.
Experience collaborating with third-party manufacturers or external technical partners.
Experience providing technical training, application support or customer education in healthcare environments.
