A space-solutions company specializing in microsatellite technology is looking for an Embedded Hardware Engineer. The selected candidate will design and develop embedded hardware and FPGA systems for satellites, supporting activities from board specifications and circuit design through manufacturing, testing, and satellite operations.
Responsibilities
Design and develop embedded systems, including high-speed interfaces and image sensor control.
Create board specifications based on satellite system requirements and perform electronic circuit design, including architecture, device selection, and artwork requirements.
Develop FPGA logic using HDL or IDE, including simulation, testbench-related activities, and documentation.
Collaborate with internal and external teams on schematic and PCB artwork design, prepare manufacturing documentation, manage board production, and conduct inspections.
Develop minimal drivers for custom IP using C/C++ in bare-metal or embedded OS environments.
Conduct hardware testing and support satellite operations during deployment and troubleshooting.
Work closely with software designers and other engineering teams to ensure interoperability across systems.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in electrical/electronic engineering, computer science, physics, or a related field.
Business-level communication skills in Japanese or English.
Hands-on experience designing circuits for microcontrollers or FPGAs and their peripheral circuits.
Experience with FPGA logic design and testbench creation.
Knowledge of embedded systems and experience designing or verifying low-speed (<1 Gbps) and high-speed (>1 Gbps) interfaces.
Familiarity with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and logic analyzers.
Strong collaboration skills across engineering disciplines.
Benefits
Full reimbursement of commuting expenses.
Health, pension, employment, and industrial injury insurance.
