The Financial Controller role offers the opportunity to play a key part in both accounting and financial planning activities within a global automotive technology environment. This position provides broad exposure to financial operations, business partnering, reporting, and compliance, while working closely with stakeholders across an international organisation.
Responsibilities
Prepare annual budgets, forecasts, and management reports
Review and oversee monthly and annual closing activities
Support financial planning, analysis, and business reporting
Coordinate with the Shared Service Centre on daily finance operations
Manage banking activities and fixed asset accounting
Support external audits, internal controls, tax filings, and statutory reporting
Partner with business leaders to drive financial performance and operational improvements
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Minimum 10 years of accounting and finance experience
Strong knowledge of JGAAP and financial reporting requirements
Experience with monthly and annual closing processes
Experience supporting tax audits and statutory compliance
Excellent problem-solving and stakeholder management skills
Business-level Japanese and English communication skills
Ability to work independently in a multinational environment
