The Group Manager role offers an exciting opportunity to lead global new product development and category strategy within the professional beauty industry. Based within a global headquarters function in Japan, this position will drive innovation, portfolio growth, and brand development while collaborating with international stakeholders to bring new products successfully to market.
Responsibilities
Develop and execute global category strategies aligned with long-term business objectives and growth priorities.
Identify market opportunities through consumer, customer, and category insights to strengthen portfolio performance.
Lead new product development initiatives from concept creation through to commercial launch.
Create and implement integrated global marketing strategies across digital, education, communication, and point-of-sale channels.
Ensure consistent brand positioning and storytelling while adapting initiatives to regional market requirements.
Collaborate closely with research and development, supply chain, sales, education, and regional teams to deliver successful product launches.
Manage category performance, including budget management, KPI tracking, resource allocation, profit and loss responsibility, and team leadership.
Requirements
5–10 years of experience in marketing, strategy development, and commercial planning within a consumer goods environment.
Experience in product categories such as beauty, skincare, make-up, haircare, household goods, food, beverages, consumer electronics, apparel, luxury goods, or other consumer products.
Minimum 3 years of people management experience.
Native-level Japanese and business-level English communication skills.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead cross-functional teams in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
Bachelor’s degree or higher.
Experience in new product development and go-to-market strategy preferred.
Experience in global or regional marketing roles preferred.
Experience in professional haircare or salon-focused brand marketing would be advantageous.
Strong strategic thinking, stakeholder management, and project leadership capabilities.
