About the Company :

Global Strategic Advisory Firm

Responsibilities :

- Independently manage enhanced due diligence and strategic intelligence investigations in APAC, focusing on Japan.

- Design lines of inquiry based on commercial, regulatory, and political risk assessments.

- Identify and engage human sources inside and outside the network; develop investigative plans using open source and human intelligence.

- Vet and cultivate human sources across Japan and major Asian regions.

- Oversee Tokyo office operations, including line management of analysts and managers.

- Coordinate with Asia team members in London and Singapore.

- Develop training plans and improve operational processes for the Tokyo office.

- Support Head of Japan with operational and business development tasks.

- Deliver client debriefings tailored to private equity and multinational corporate audiences.

- Manage high-pressure client meetings involving deal teams, legal teams, and executives.

- Draft written reports by analyzing intelligence, benchmarking risks and opportunities, and presenting clear, narrative-driven findings.

Required Experience / Abilities / Skills :

- 5+ years of professional experience in business intelligence or related fields (strategy, management, regulatory, political risk, geopolitical consulting).

- High cultural awareness of working in Japan and with Japanese clients.

- Proven knowledge of business, political, and regulatory trends in Asia, especially Japan.

- Strong commercial awareness, understanding business models and risks (commercial, regulatory, political).

- Ability to manage and foster a positive team culture.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

- High attention to detail and strong analytical abilities.

- Sound professional judgment in project execution and client management.

- Self-starter who can deliver quality work with minimal supervision.
