The HR Business Partner role offers the opportunity to serve as a trusted advisor to business leaders, delivering both strategic and hands-on HR support. This position plays an important part in aligning people initiatives with business objectives, enhancing organisational effectiveness, and driving a positive employee experience. It is ideal for an experienced HR professional who enjoys partnering with stakeholders, using data-driven insights, and contributing to organisational growth.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with business leaders to provide proactive HR guidance and support on a broad range of people-related matters.

  • Develop a deep understanding of business priorities and workforce needs to deliver effective HR solutions that enable organisational success.

  • Leverage people data, trends, and key metrics, in collaboration with HR leadership and Centres of Excellence, to support decision-making and identify opportunities for improvement.

  • Manage complex employee relations matters, investigations, and workplace concerns in partnership with relevant stakeholders.

  • Build strong working relationships across the organisation to enhance employee engagement, performance, retention, and team effectiveness.

  • Provide expert guidance on HR policies, procedures, and best practices, ensuring compliance and consistency.

  • Support workforce planning, organisational design, and succession planning initiatives.

  • Identify capability gaps and development opportunities at both individual and team levels.

  • Assess the effectiveness of learning and development programmes and recommend enhancements where appropriate.

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of innovative people strategies that support evolving business needs and organisational growth.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience as a People Partner, HR Business Partner, or in a comparable HR business partnering role.

  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building capabilities.

  • Native-level Japanese and business-level English proficiency.

  • Data-driven and analytical mindset with a results-oriented approach.

  • Experience leveraging HR metrics to inform decision-making and drive business outcomes.

  • Solid knowledge of Japanese labour laws and employment practices.

  • Comprehensive understanding of core HR disciplines and HR best practices.
