The Logistics Manager role offers the opportunity to lead end-to-end supply chain and logistics operations within a premium consumer goods environment, supporting the continued growth of both retail and e-commerce channels. This position plays a key role in ensuring operational excellence, service reliability, inventory accuracy, and supply chain scalability while working closely with global and regional stakeholders.
Responsibilities
Lead and oversee end-to-end supply chain and logistics operations in Japan, supporting retail and e-commerce business growth.
Manage the full logistics lifecycle, including Purchase Order management, international imports, warehousing, inventory control, domestic distribution, and returns processing.
Ensure products are delivered to customers and retail locations efficiently, accurately, and on time.
Lead, coach, and develop a team of three logistics professionals to drive operational excellence and continuous improvement.
Manage and coordinate external logistics partners, including 3PL providers, transportation carriers, freight forwarders, and customs brokers.
Support both B2B and B2C sales channels by maintaining high service levels and operational reliability.
Improve inventory accuracy and visibility through effective inventory management and control processes.
Drive logistics quality improvements while reducing transportation losses, delivery issues, and operational risks.
Identify and implement cost optimisation initiatives across transportation, warehousing, and distribution activities.
Utilise data analysis and performance metrics to support decision-making and enhance supply chain efficiency.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives to build a scalable, agile, and sustainable supply chain operation.
Collaborate closely with global headquarters, regional leadership teams, suppliers, and cross-functional stakeholders.
Provide regular reporting, operational insights, and performance updates to support business planning and strategic decision-making.
Act as a trusted business partner by aligning logistics strategies with overall business objectives and growth plans.
Communicate effectively in English with global and regional stakeholders to ensure alignment, issue resolution, and successful execution of key initiatives.
Requirements
At least 8 years of relevant experience in logistics or supply chain operations.
Experience managing a 3PL warehouse or outsourced logistics service provider.
Practical knowledge of domestic distribution and import logistics.
Experience managing a small team or leading a logistics team.
Strong data management and analytical skills using ERP systems and Excel.
Strong coordination, stakeholder management, and negotiation skills.
Native-level Japanese language capability.
Business-level English proficiency suitable for meetings, email correspondence, reporting, and communication with overseas stakeholders.
