The Manager, Operations role is a pivotal position within a manufacturing environment, focused on driving efficient production execution and operational excellence. This role offers the opportunity to lead cross-functional collaboration and deliver measurable improvements across production and supply chain performance.
Responsibilities
Lead daily production scheduling using SAP and MES, aligning plans with demand forecasts, capacity, and operational constraints
Manage contingency situations such as demand fluctuations, material shortages, and equipment issues to maintain production continuity
Collaborate with production, planning, logistics, quality, and engineering teams to resolve constraints and align operational priorities
Monitor and analyse production KPIs, driving data-led improvements in efficiency, cost control, and capacity utilisation
Oversee inventory management for work-in-progress and batch remnants, ensuring accuracy and minimising waste
Manage procurement planning and execution to secure timely material availability while optimising costs
Lead and develop a team of four members, supporting performance management and capability development
Requirements
Experience in production planning, demand planning, or supply chain management within a manufacturing environment
Strong knowledge of inventory management, stock control, and optimisation practices
Hands-on experience with SAP, MES, or similar production and scheduling systems
Proven ability to manage projects and drive process improvements across cross-functional teams
Strong analytical and reporting skills related to production and inventory performance
Effective collaboration skills across production, procurement, quality, and engineering functions
Fluency in both Japanese and English
