The Regional IT Manager role offers the opportunity to lead and shape regional IT operations within a global automotive technology organisation. This position plays a critical part in ensuring stable, secure, and high-performing IT services across infrastructure, applications, manufacturing systems, and end-user environments while partnering closely with regional and global stakeholders.
Responsibilities
Lead and manage regional IT operations across infrastructure, applications, manufacturing plant IT, and end-user services.
Ensure the availability, stability, security, and performance of servers, networks, end-user computing environments, and business-critical applications.
Support manufacturing systems, including MES and plant IT environments, while aligning local operations with global standards and initiatives.
Act as the primary IT partner for regional business leadership, translating business needs into effective technology solutions.
Lead and develop the regional IT support team, including performance management, succession planning, and cross-training initiatives.
Manage external vendors and service providers to ensure strong service delivery and adherence to established SLAs.
Drive continuous improvement through automation, risk management, capacity planning, business continuity preparation, and infrastructure lifecycle management.
Requirements
12-15 years of experience in IT infrastructure and application operations.
Experience supporting automotive manufacturing environments.
Strong knowledge of end-user computing, server technologies, virtualisation platforms, and network infrastructure.
Hands-on troubleshooting experience with Windows-based environments and VMware platforms.
Experience supporting MES or manufacturing-related systems.
Proven leadership experience managing IT teams, vendors, and outsourced service providers.
Ability to work effectively within multinational and geographically distributed organisations.
Business-level proficiency in both Japanese and English.
Knowledge of ITIL or similar IT service management frameworks.
Strong stakeholder management, ownership, communication, and continuous improvement mindset.
