The System Engineer – Service Centre role is a key technical position focused on delivering reliable systems and services to customers across Japan. This role combines hands-on engineering expertise with customer engagement, ensuring high-performance system operation and service excellence.
Responsibilities
Deliver installation, configuration, and technical support for systems and equipment both remotely and at customer sites
Deploy and maintain Linux and Unix-based environments to ensure stable and efficient operations
Troubleshoot hardware and software issues across electrical and networked systems with a focus on minimising downtime
Collaborate with internal engineering, project, and support teams to resolve complex technical challenges
Support system integration, testing, and commissioning of new and upgraded solutions
Maintain accurate technical documentation, including configurations, incident reports, and service records in line with quality processes
Assist with network setup and troubleshooting, ensuring essential network services operate effectively
Requirements
Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience
Strong foundation or interest in electrical engineering principles
Experience installing and supporting Linux or Unix operating systems
Basic knowledge of networking concepts such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and network hardware
Background in technical support, system integration, or field engineering, ideally involving complex systems
Familiarity with electronics, optronics, sonar, radar, radio, or telecommunications systems is advantageous
Strong communication skills in Japanese and working proficiency in English
Customer-focused mindset with the ability to clearly communicate technical information
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail
Willingness to travel domestically and occasionally internationally for extended periods
