The Country Finance Manager role offers an opportunity to drive end-to-end financial processes while partnering closely with stakeholders across a global organisation. This position combines leadership, operational excellence, and strategic collaboration to enhance financial accuracy, efficiency, and compliance in a dynamic international environment.
Responsibilities
Lead, develop, and manage finance teams, including recruitment, performance management, and career development
Oversee daily operations of Finance and Order-to-Cash activities, alongside coordination of Procure-to-Pay and Record-to-Report processes
Collaborate with shared service centres to ensure effective transaction processing and consistent service delivery
Act as a local representative for corporate finance functions such as Treasury, Tax, and Insurance, aligning global frameworks with local requirements
Partner with business controlling teams to address financial risks, improve internal controls, and identify opportunities for optimisation
Drive process improvements, enhance KPIs, reduce manual journal entries, and strengthen financial reporting reliability
Manage internal controls to ensure full compliance with policies, procedures, and local accounting standards, including oversight of Travel and Expenses processes
Requirements
Extensive experience in finance and accounting, with strong expertise in J-GAAP and working knowledge of US GAAP
Over 10 years of experience within international organisations, collaborating with remote teams, centres of excellence, and shared services
Proven leadership capability with experience managing and developing teams
Strong proficiency in SAP ERP and commonly used Microsoft Office tools
Data-driven mindset with a focus on delivering high-quality service to stakeholders
Excellent communication skills in both English and Japanese, with the confidence to engage senior stakeholders locally and internationally
Solid understanding of accounting principles, with exposure to tax and treasury considered advantageous
High emotional and cultural intelligence, with a collaborative and proactive approach
Valid working permit for Japan
