Job Description
Lead the operation, maintenance, and upgrades of mechanical and electrical infrastructure, including cooling systems and power systems, within data center and facility environments
Monitor and optimize power and cooling capacity utilization, supporting capacity planning and budget forecasting
Oversee infrastructure installation, commissioning, and vendor management across colocation sites and lab facilities in Japan
Conduct root cause analysis for incidents and develop preventive measures to ensure operational reliability
Create and maintain operational documentation such as SOPs, MOPs, and EOPs, and provide training to engineers and technicians
Collaborate with APAC and global teams to support international projects, audits, and operational improvements
Ensure stable operations by participating in an on-call rotation and maintaining compliance with safety standards and local regulations
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field
7–10 years of hands-on experience in operating and maintaining mechanical infrastructure in data centers or mission-critical facilities
Strong understanding of electrical systems, including UPS operations, power distribution, and generator controls
Professional proficiency in both Japanese (JLPT N2 or equivalent) and English (TOEIC 800 or equivalent)
Strong troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to perform under pressure
Experience working with vendors, contractors, and global teams
Experience in large-scale or colocation data center environments is preferred
Familiarity with DCIM tools, BMS, and environmental monitoring systems is a plus
Relevant certifications such as CDCP, CDFOM, AOS, or Japanese technical licenses are advantageous
Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights and weekends as part of an on-call rotation, and willingness to travel internationally
Must be legally authorized to work in Japan
