About the Company :
Private Credit Manager
Responsibilities :
- Lead and manage the application process for obtaining the Type II Financial Instruments Business Operator license in Japan.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant Japanese financial regulations, including those set by the Financial Services Agency (FSA) and industry bodies.
- Develop, implement, and maintain compliance policies and procedures aligned with local regulatory requirements and global standards.
- Liaise with Japanese regulators, legal advisors, and industry associations throughout the licensing process.
- Monitor regulatory changes and assess their impact on licensing and business operations.
- Coordinate with internal teams (Legal, Compliance, Risk, Operations) to ensure readiness for licensing requirements.
- Prepare and submit all necessary documentation, reports, and filings to regulatory authorities.
- Conduct training and awareness programs on regulatory compliance and licensing obligations for staff.
- Support ongoing compliance monitoring and reporting post-license acquisition.
- Manage regulatory inspections and audits related to the license.

Required Experience / Abilities / Skills :
- Minimum 5 years of experience in compliance, legal, or regulatory roles within asset management or financial services, within Japan.
- Strong knowledge of Japanese financial regulatory frameworks, especially related to the Type II Financial Instruments license.
- Experience in licensing processes and dealings with the Financial Services Agency (FSA) and other relevant regulators.
- Familiarity with global asset management operations and regulatory environments.
- Excellent communication skills in both Japanese and English (spoken and written).
- Proven ability to manage complex projects and coordinate cross-functional teams.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
- Relevant certifications in compliance or financial regulation are a plus.
