The Finance Staff (Future Business Controller) role offers the opportunity to work closely with both domestic and international stakeholders while contributing to financial planning, reporting, and business performance management across multiple regions. This position provides a clear pathway towards developing into a Business Controller role, supporting key business decisions within a global organisation operating in the industrial equipment manufacturing industry.
Responsibilities
Prepare monthly and annual financial closing activities, including cost accounting and analysis of actual versus budget results for profit and loss statements and balance sheets.
Develop profit forecasts and free cash flow forecasts to support business planning and performance management.
Compile monthly financial reports for global stakeholders.
Collaborate with international accounting and controlling teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and alignment with corporate requirements.
Support budget preparation activities covering profit and loss, balance sheet, and free cash flow planning.
Assist management through annual financial reporting preparation, monthly expense analysis, and cash flow reporting activities.
Contribute to the continued development of the finance function while building the skills required for future Business Controller responsibilities.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree or higher.
Experience with financial closing under both IFRS and J-GAAP accounting standards.
Budget planning and forecasting experience.
Ability to communicate professionally in English, including the use of accounting and finance terminology.
Leadership experience. Team size is not a determining factor.
Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly advanced Excel functions.
Intermediate English proficiency, with experience communicating through email and web meetings with overseas colleagues.
ERP system experience is preferred.
Experience with cloud-based systems is preferred.
Knowledge of J-SOX, corporate taxation, transfer pricing, or experience with listed companies in Japan is advantageous.
