The HDR Applications Engineer role offers the opportunity to work at the intersection of customer engagement and engineering, supporting the development of customised interconnect solutions for a wide range of applications. This role is ideal for a technically minded professional who enjoys collaborating with customers and cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions from concept through to production release.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with customers to understand application requirements and recommend optimal product solutions.
Review technical requests, specifications, drawings, and design requirements.
Develop customised product configurations and assign custom part numbers.
Create and manage Engineering Change Requests (ECRs).
Support technical enquiries and provide application-level guidance.
Review product designs to ensure manufacturability and compliance with customer requirements.
Generate product cost information to support quotation activities.
Work closely with Product Managers, Engineering, Sales, Marketing, Quality, and Operations teams.
Monitor market trends and customer requirements to support future product development initiatives.
Provide regular updates on customer projects and activities.
Requirements
3 to 5 years of experience in Technical Sales, Inside Sales, Applications Engineering, or a related customer-facing technical role.
Experience supporting customised or modified product solutions.
Strong technical aptitude with the ability to understand engineering drawings and specifications.
Experience managing projects from concept and quotation through to production release.
Excellent communication and customer relationship management skills.
Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Sales, Quality, Marketing, and Operations.
Technical background in electronics, electrical engineering, or a related field.
Fluent English communication skills.
