The Ingredients Procurement Specialist role offers the opportunity to play a key part in driving procurement excellence within a global food manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for developing sourcing strategies, managing supplier relationships, and delivering value through cost optimisation, quality assurance, supply security, innovation, and sustainability initiatives.
Responsibilities
Manage sourcing activities for a designated category, including dairy ingredients and/or other raw materials.
Analyse market trends, business requirements, and environmental factors to develop mid-term category procurement strategies.
Identify and evaluate suppliers, build strategic supplier relationships, and negotiate contracts to achieve business objectives.
Ensure effective contract management and compliance with internal procurement standards and policies.
Lead cross-functional projects focused on cost reduction and value creation.
Monitor and report on raw material costs, pricing trends, and project progress for local and global stakeholders.
Support the delivery of competitive advantage through optimised sourcing solutions that balance cost, quality, service, security of supply, innovation, and sustainability.
Requirements
Strong problem-solving skills and strategic thinking capability.
5 to 10 years of sourcing/procurement experience or equivalent business experience.
Business-level English and native-level Japanese communication skills.
TOEIC score of approximately 600 or above.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
Experience using SAP.
Strong stakeholder management and supplier negotiation skills.
Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional and multicultural environment.
