The Project Manager role offers the opportunity to lead complex cooling infrastructure projects supporting mission-critical facilities and data centre environments. This position plays an important part in ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on schedule, and within budget while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction. Working closely with customers, engineering teams, subcontractors, and service partners, you will oversee the complete project lifecycle from planning through to final delivery.
Responsibilities
Manage multiple cooling system projects throughout the entire project lifecycle.
Ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with contractual requirements.
Develop project plans, resource schedules, and implementation strategies.
Coordinate site activities involving service engineers, subcontractors, and service partners.
Monitor project costs and implement actions to improve project profitability and performance.
Lead project meetings and maintain effective communication with customers and stakeholders.
Manage project risks, technical issues, and escalation processes.
Coordinate Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) activities.
Support customers during engineering reviews, feasibility assessments, and technical discussions.
Manage change requests and identify opportunities to improve project value and revenue.
Support contract administration activities, procurement processes, billing milestones, and forecasting.
Collaborate with customer service, engineering, and factory teams to ensure successful project execution.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and project management best practices.
Ensure compliance with quality management, safety, and operational standards.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Thermal Engineering, Fluid Engineering, or a related discipline.
One of the following qualifications, or equivalent experience meeting industry requirements:
Class 1 Plumbing and Mechanical Works Management Engineer (1級管工事施工管理技士)
Professional Engineer (Mechanical Engineering)
Minimum 5 years of experience in cooling systems, HVAC systems, mechanical infrastructure, or data centre projects.
Strong knowledge of:
HVAC systems
Chilled water systems
Liquid cooling systems
Piping systems
Heat exchangers
Pumps and related mechanical infrastructure
Strong project management and organisational skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
AutoCAD proficiency.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage project deadlines.
Fluent Japanese and business-level English communication skills.
