Job Description
Deliver actuarial and probabilistic financial analyses to support clients’ reinsurance purchasing decisions across property, engineering, casualty, marine, and credit lines
Build and develop financial models, primarily using risk and capital modelling tools, to evaluate reinsurance strategies and financial projections
Manage end-to-end analytical projects, including data validation, model development, simulation, and report delivery with a high standard of accuracy and quality
Collaborate with internal stakeholders and global teams, and present insights and recommendations to clients in a clear and actionable manner
Support optimization of catastrophe reinsurance programmes to meet client risk and capital requirements
Conduct internal and external presentations and training on actuarial methods and analytical approaches
Contribute to internal initiatives such as process improvements, product development, research on regulatory trends, and support for modelling tool users and related activities
Qualifications
3+ years of actuarial experience within non-life insurance, such as pricing, reserving, or risk management
Strong analytical capabilities and experience handling data, building financial models, and delivering insights
Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access
Experience with Dynamic Financial Analysis tools such as ReMetrica, Igloo, or MetaRisk is advantageous
Knowledge of actuarial pricing techniques including experience rating and exposure rating is preferred
Familiarity with programming languages such as R, Python, or SQL is a plus
Understanding of reinsurance structures, products, and related regulatory or financial frameworks is beneficial
Fluency in both Japanese and English, with strong communication and presentation skills
Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, global environment
Demonstrated ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within teams
Progress toward or completion of actuarial examinations from the Institute of Actuaries of Japan or other recognized actuarial bodies
Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, or a related quantitative field
