The Senior Manager, Automation Project role offers an exciting opportunity to lead large-scale automation programmes across manufacturing and operational technology environments. This position plays a key role in driving transformation, delivering advanced automation solutions, and supporting long-term operational excellence through innovation, efficiency, and global best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of automation programmes across IT and OT environments, including MES, SCADA, PLC, and DCS systems.

  • Define and implement automation strategies and system architectures aligned with global standards and Industry 4.0 objectives.

  • Manage project scope, schedules, risks, dependencies, and delivery milestones to ensure successful project outcomes.

  • Oversee CAPEX and OPEX planning, budgeting, and cost control to support sustainable operational performance.

  • Coordinate external partners, including system integrators and OEMs, while providing leadership to internal engineering teams.

  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, cybersecurity, and data integrity requirements throughout project lifecycles.

  • Drive testing, commissioning, validation, and operational readiness activities, while providing regular progress updates and risk assessments to senior stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Degree in Engineering or a related discipline such as Mechanical, Chemical, Materials, Packaging, or a similar field.

  • Extensive experience in relevant technical environments, including leadership of large-scale projects or teams.

  • Strong expertise in automation and manufacturing technologies.

  • Demonstrated leadership, stakeholder management, and team development capabilities.

  • Strategic mindset with a strong focus on innovation, continuous improvement, and problem-solving.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively in global environments.

  • Business-level English proficiency.

  • Understanding of safety requirements, regulatory compliance, and industry standards.

  • Knowledge of intellectual property considerations and patent interpretation.
