The Specialist, Commercial & TAS role offers a dynamic opportunity to lead and grow a diagnostics business across Japan. It combines commercial leadership with technical expertise, driving market expansion, strengthening stakeholder relationships and delivering impactful healthcare solutions.
Responsibilities
Drive sales growth and profitability across the assigned territory, achieving annual revenue and EBIT targets
Lead and develop overall sales performance in Japan through close collaboration with distributors and business partners
Strengthen market position by building trusted relationships with regulators, healthcare professionals, key opinion leaders and customers
Execute territory strategies aligned with global direction, ensuring efficient and responsive implementation
Leverage distributor networks to maximise business synergies and ensure high-quality service delivery
Provide market insights, competitor intelligence and support technical aspects of new product launches
Collaborate cross-functionally with teams including marketing, supply chain, regulatory, quality and compliance
Requirements
Degree or certification in medical technology or a related life sciences field
At least five years’ experience in technical application specialist or commercial roles, ideally within diagnostics or healthcare
Strong understanding of the Japanese regulatory environment, hospital procurement processes and market dynamics
Established relationships with distributors, customers and key opinion leaders
Proven ability in sales leadership, marketing management and risk management
Excellent communication, presentation and influencing skills
Strong analytical, problem-solving and process management capabilities
Self-motivated, results-driven and able to translate technical concepts into commercial outcomes
Proficiency in Microsoft applications; familiarity with Salesforce is advantageous
Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required
