The Trade Marketing Analyst role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to commercial growth through data-driven decision-making, category development, and customer engagement. Working closely with sales and cross-functional teams, you will help shape customer strategies, strengthen retail execution, and support high-impact commercial initiatives across the Japanese market.

Responsibilities

  • Analyse market, customer, category, and sales data to generate insights that support business growth and commercial decision-making.

  • Support category management activities and customer development strategies for key retail accounts.

  • Develop compelling selling stories, customer proposals, and promotional initiatives that address customer needs and improve sales performance.

  • Partner with sales teams on customer engagement, business negotiations, and joint business planning activities.

  • Contribute to monthly and annual business planning processes by providing market insights and actionable recommendations.

  • Monitor the execution of strategic initiatives, including product launches, distribution expansion, inventory optimisation, and promotional activities.

  • Collaborate with marketing, finance, supply chain, revenue management, analytics, and sales teams to identify challenges and implement effective commercial solutions.

Requirements

  • Native-level or fluent Japanese language skills.

  • Approximately 5 years or more of experience in Trade Marketing, Category Management, Customer Marketing, Sales Strategy, Sales Planning, Commercial Planning, or Key Account Management.

  • Experience within a B2C consumer goods environment.

  • Demonstrated experience supporting sales organisations through data analysis, promotional planning, customer presentations, account planning, or joint business planning.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret market, customer, category, and sales performance data and translate findings into practical recommendations.

  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and relationship-building skills.

  • Proactive, adaptable, and hands-on approach to problem-solving.

  • Experience within consumer healthcare, cosmetics, beauty, food, beverage, personal care, household goods, or related sectors is preferred.

  • Experience working with retail or drugstore channels is preferred.

  • Experience analysing POS data, promotional effectiveness, sales performance, or market trends would be advantageous.

  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams including Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, Finance, Revenue Management, or Analytics.

  • Business-level or conversational English skills are preferred.
