Job Summary
You’ll report to a Director and provide crucial legal and compliance support across various functions. You’ll offer guidance and advice, ensuring the company adheres to all relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies. Collaborating closely with both local and international compliance teams, you’ll handle legal documentation in both Japanese and English, support compliance projects, and adapt global policy changes to local practices. Additionally, you’ll conduct investigations into misconduct and prepare necessary remediation actions, making your role vital to maintaining the company’s integrity and compliance standards.

The ideal candidate should possess:
- A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, with 5-7 years of in-house legal or compliance experience, preferably within a large multinational pharmaceutical or healthcare organization.
- Native-level proficiency in Japanese and business-level proficiency in English (reading and writing) are required, with business-level speaking skills in English being advantageous.
- The role demands strong interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to work collaboratively and influence cross-functional teams, and a positive mindset for tackling complex issues.
- Attention to detail, logical thinking, and the ability to provide practical, commercially focused legal and compliance advice are essential.
- Familiarity with anti-corruption laws such as the U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and the UK Bribery Act is a plus.
