Our IT provides the technological platforms and services to all VJ group
companies. In the IT department, the Applications and Business partner team (ABP) has 2
big responsibilities.
1) Be a liaison with all the business units and IT by consulting IT related strategy,
projects and business needs to maximize the effectiveness of their individual
business cases
2) Manage business applications projects
a) Copy & adopt global solutions to Japan
b) Initiate projects to meet Japan local requirements
Your position is expected to lead this ABP team.
You will work closely with top management of business units to know their strategy and
needs and deliver best-fit solutions to them. Also, you will have opportunities to work in an
international environment to know about /work closely with global solutions.
Role /Responsibilities
● Act as the contact / liaison between Business and IT in Japan as a business partner.
Take ownership of several business entities among 20 group companies and Shared
Service (HR, Fin, Purchase, etc.) in the company.
● Understand the business needs from multiple business entities and initiate to deliver
the solution.
● Collaborate with local and global teams to seek better business cases /solutions as a
business partner .
● Manage large/middle size of projects from the initiation.
● Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and budget
● Develop project scope and detailed project plan to monitor progress
● Copy & Adapt global solutions to Japan
● Manage talents to support their growth. 3 people are reporting to you.
Experience /Skill set
Mandatory
● Minimum 5 years large /mid size of project manager experience.
● Minimum 3 years team management experience
● Vendor management skills. RFP (Request for Proposal) experience is required.
● Building strong relationships; excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills,
including written, verbal and presentation skills.
● The ability to communicate effectively and willingness to work in a diverse,
intercultural environment
● Have a perspective on project success and client satisfaction
● Translate conceptual user requirements into clear functional requirements
● Being motivated to change, always working toward improvement, regardless of the
current method
● Language skills : Japanese - Native, English - Business level
Optional (nice to have)
● Facilitating innovation in business process and technical solution delivery
● MBA and/or BA from a reputed University in Computer Science, Business
Administration or a related field
● Flexibility and adaptability in fast-paced business environment
● PMP certification is a plus.
● BPR（Business Process Reenigineeing) experience is plus
● Knowledge of application development framework
● Understanding basic concept of the ITIL
